More than VND 1,500 billion planned for drainage and flood prevention for Central Tuy Hoa City

In response to climate change to 2025 and vision to 2050, PPC Chairman of the PPC, Mr. Hoang Van Tra has signed Decision 426/QD-UBND on approving the flood proofing and drainage plan for the Center area of Tuy Hoa city. Accordingly, the planning scope is the rainwater drainage system of the city center's main route, including the northern area of Da Rang river and the eastern railroads.

It is detailed that: Region 1 includes the city center with wards 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and the main area of ​​wards 2, 7, which has the moderate construction density, with borders of Da Rang river at the south, the railway at the west, sea at the east and Tran Phu street at the north; Region 2 in the north area of ​​the city and the east of railroads, including the area of ​​ward 7 not in the city center, the main zone of wards 8, 9, and a small area of Binh Kien commune.

The objective is to concretize the drainage-developing orientation for Tuy Hoa city in the scheme of Adjusting the general plan on constructing Tuy Hoa city and vicinity up to 2025 combined with the consideration of coping with climate change; meeting the requirement of state management on water drainage activity in Tuy Hoa city; as the basis for implementing the investment projects in newly constructing with various sources of funding to build, renovate and upgrade water drainage system to cope with the consideration of climate change in the city. The main drainage area includes gravity drainage of rain water collected and discharged into the East Sea, Bau Ha canal and partly of Chua river and Da Rang river; gravity rainwater drainage combined with drainage pump collected and discharged to Chua river, Da Rang river.

The planning strategy, including cleaning and maintaining sewers, outfall, drainage works to ensure capacity for rain water drainage system; maintaining Bau Ha canal is 120 ha as a temporary storage area in combination with entertainment and agricultural production. Improving and building some new sewers in urban areas can lead to partial drainage canal in the inner city and to Bau Ha canal to reduce the rainwater drainage systems of urban areas; exhibiting the pumping station in urban areas ... The total budget estimates for the project investment is VND 1,502 billion.
